HOST HOME PURPOSE
“Share what you have with the saints, so they lack nothing; take every opportunity to open your life and home to others, even if they are outside your faith family.” (Romans 12:13 - The Voice)
In RYFO’s mission to holistically care for the unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of touring musicians, a Host Home provides free meals, beds, wireless internet, laundry, showers, prayer, and other various essential needs for traveling musicians, allowing them to save time and money so that they may better accomplish their commission.
We are looking for the people around the world that already offer their homes to bands, and those that have longed to... Please read the following guidelines first BEFORE applying.
HOST HOME GUIDELINES (MUST READ)
1. Ministering as a servant
First and foremost, as a Host Home, you are a servant expecting nothing in return for your service. Do not apply if you are looking to gain something out of this. Super fans please move on. We ask that you serve with a servant’s heart, without seeking any personal gain. NEVER ask for free tickets to shows, shirts, CD’s, autographs, etc. Also, there is no guarantee that any band passing through your home will respect it to the degree that you do. Therefore, if stuff breaks and there are crumbs on the floor when a band leaves, grab yourself some Crazy Glue and a vacuum and clean with a Jesus smile.
2. Respecting band's needed time and space
Day in and day out, bands have demands placed on them and the last thing they want at the end of the night is to continue to be drained by a home that desires much of them. As a Host Home you will be providing; free meals, beds, wireless Internet, laundry, showers, prayer, sufficient parking for van+trailer, and other various essential needs that you may have to offer. Consider asking bands “what can we do for you?” when they arrive instead of “how’s tour going?” Most of them get quite tired of that question night after night. Don’t keep them up talking all night. Let bands sleep. Make them feel at home and rested. If you need to cancel a band’s stay at your home for any reason, please give them ample notice to find other accommodations.
3. Your safety & sanity
If you are a single women living alone, please do not apply to be a Host Home. For your own safety, we ask you not to host bands alone in your home. For your sanity, please only commit to housing one band per night and commitments to bands are for one night at a time.
4. A band’s “Christian responsibility” is not your concern
You may not critique or rebuke an artist as a person, Christian or as a musician. Also, know that some musicians passing through your home may not be believers. Knowing this, your sacrificial service as a Host Home is enormously valuable to their experiencing Christ through RYFO NETWORK. A Host Home must also understand that many within the music community choose to smoke cigarettes, and it is not the Host Home’s place to discuss their spiritual convictions surrounding that. If an artist chooses to smoke outside of the home, the Host Home may never comment.

TOURING ARTIST GUIDELINES FOR HOST HOME STAYS (MUST READ)
1. Respect all homes
Remember you have been welcomed into a network of servant homes, so be respectful so that they will want you back and will be willing to have other bands stay after you have passed through. Don’t trash the house. If you make a mess, clean it up! If you break something, offer to fix it or pay for it. If you smoke cigarettes, smoke them outside. Respect the home’s personal family guidelines. If you have a potty mouth, hold your tongue. And let the Host Home sleep.
2. Substances
Please no consumption of alcohol while staying at the home out of respect for the Host Home’s potential personal rules. Absolutely no illegal drug use will be tolerated. A home has every right to call the police if they feel threatened in any way or observe any illegal activity.
3. Length and details of stays
Bands are allowed to stay at any given Host Home for only one night. Consecutive nights in a row in the same house are not allowed, out of respect for the homes personal time and space. Do not bring friends from the show to a Host Home. And Host Homes have the right to deny any band access into their home for any reason, and all band members must comply respectfully.
